Description

In one study (read here) kids found the 6 x 8 multiplication the hardest. Self-reporting suggests that the seven times table is the hardest overall, but eight does give it a run for its money!

Number sense can be beautifully described as “making friends with numbers” – it goes beyond the calculations and procedures we have to learn. Fostering number sense can come with including strategies for finding alternate methods to the outcome. Being able to take numbers apart and put them together again in more effective ways shows a wonderful case of number sense.

This poster shows you not only the visual and spatial processing of the eight times table, but also how to use number sense strategies to find its products that don’t easily come to mind.
